1. Acceptance of Terms
By booking, scheduling, or otherwise using any moving or related services provided by InstaGo Moving (“InstaGo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you (“Customer” or “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and InstaGo Moving regarding the services provided and supersede any prior agreements, representations, or understandings, whether written or oral.
2. Moving Services
InstaGo Moving provides professional relocation services including, but not limited to:
- Residential moving — apartments, condominiums, single-family homes, and multi-unit properties
- Commercial moving — offices, retail spaces, warehouses, and other commercial properties
- Local moving — relocations within the same metropolitan area or city
- Long-distance moving — relocations exceeding local service boundaries within California and across state lines
- Packing and unpacking — professional packing materials and labor as an add-on service
Services are provided at hourly rates determined by crew size, equipment required, move complexity, and distance. All applicable rates will be disclosed during the quoting process prior to booking confirmation.
3. Booking and Confirmation
Quote Process. All estimates are provided based on information supplied by the Customer at the time of inquiry. Final pricing may vary if actual conditions differ materially from those described (e.g., additional items, restricted access, additional floors, or other unforeseen circumstances).
Deposit. A deposit may be required to secure your moving date. The deposit amount will be specified at the time of booking. Deposits are applied toward the final balance owed upon completion of the move.
Cancellation Policy. Cancellations made with at least 48 hours notice prior to the scheduled move date will receive a full refund of any deposit paid. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours notice may result in forfeiture of the deposit. InstaGo Moving reserves the right to waive this policy at its discretion in cases of documented emergency or extenuating circumstances.
Rescheduling. Requests to reschedule are subject to crew and truck availability. Please contact us as early as possible if you need to change your scheduled date.
4. Pricing and Payment
Hourly Rates. Services are billed at an hourly rate from the time the crew departs the InstaGo Moving facility or staging location to the time the move is completed and the crew returns. Travel time to and from the job site may be included in billable time; this will be disclosed in your quote.
Minimum Charge. A minimum of two (2) hours of labor is required for all moves. Moves completed in less than two hours will still be billed at the two-hour minimum.
Payment Due. Full payment is due upon completion of the move, before the crew departs the destination location. Failure to pay at completion may result in items being held until payment is received, in accordance with California law.
Accepted Payment Methods. We accept cash, major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover), and other methods disclosed at the time of booking. We do not accept personal checks unless pre-approved in writing.
Additional Charges. Extra charges may apply for specialty items (pianos, safes, hot tubs, etc.), long carries, stair fees, elevator fees, packing materials, or additional stops. These will be communicated to the Customer before work begins whenever reasonably possible.
5. Liability and Insurance
Basic Released Value Protection. Unless otherwise agreed in writing, InstaGo Moving provides basic released value protection in accordance with applicable California regulations. Under this coverage, liability for lost or damaged items is limited to $0.60 per pound per article. This is a minimal protection level and does not reflect the actual market value of your belongings.
Full-Value Protection. Customers may elect full-value protection coverage for an additional charge. Please request this option at the time of booking. This option must be selected before the move commences and cannot be added after services begin.
High-Value Items. The Customer must declare any items with a replacement value exceeding $500 per item (including antiques, artwork, jewelry, electronics, and collectibles) in writing prior to the commencement of the move. InstaGo Moving is not liable for loss or damage to undeclared high-value items beyond the basic released value protection limits.
Limitations of Liability. InstaGo Moving is not liable for damage to items that were packed by the Customer, damage to items in pre-existing poor condition, or damage resulting from the Customer's failure to disclose access restrictions, fragile items, or special handling requirements.
6. Customer Responsibilities
To ensure a safe and efficient move, the Customer agrees to:
- Provide clear access — Ensure hallways, doorways, stairwells, elevators, and parking areas at both origin and destination are accessible and free of obstructions on the scheduled move date.
- Prepare items for transport — Certain items (bed frames, cribs, large shelving units, exercise equipment) may require disassembly before movers can safely transport them. The Customer is responsible for disassembly and reassembly of items not expressly included in the quoted service, unless the Customer has arranged for packing/assembly service.
- Be present or designate a representative — The Customer or an authorized adult representative (18 years or older) must be present at both the origin and destination locations throughout the duration of the move to authorize access, direct placement of items, and accept delivery.
- Secure pets and children — For the safety of your family and our crew, please ensure that pets are secured and children are supervised during the move.
- Provide accurate information — The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of any inventory, address, or access information provided to InstaGo Moving. Additional charges may apply if inaccurate information results in delays or additional labor.
7. Delays and Force Majeure
InstaGo Moving makes every effort to arrive and complete moves on schedule. However, we are not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Severe weather conditions (rain, wind, extreme heat, wildfire smoke, flooding)
- Traffic congestion, road closures, accidents, or construction
- Mechanical failure of vehicles or equipment
- Acts of government, natural disasters, civil unrest, or pandemics
- Actions or omissions by the Customer or third parties
In the event of a significant delay caused by a force majeure event, InstaGo Moving will notify the Customer as promptly as reasonably possible and will work with the Customer to reschedule at the earliest available opportunity without penalty.
8. Damage Claims
Reporting. Any claims for loss or damage must be reported to InstaGo Moving within 24 hours of the completion of the move. Claims not reported within this window may be denied. To file a claim, contact us at info@instagomoving.com with photographic evidence of the damage, a description of the item, and the estimated value.
Claim Process. Upon receipt of a valid claim, InstaGo Moving will review the evidence and respond within a reasonable timeframe. Resolution may include repair, replacement up to the declared or released value, or a negotiated settlement. InstaGo Moving reserves the right to inspect damaged items prior to any settlement.
Pre-Existing Damage. InstaGo Moving is not liable for damage that pre-existed the move. Customers are encouraged to photograph their belongings before the move begins. Our crew may note pre-existing damage on the moving documentation at the start of the move.
9. Prohibited Items
For the safety of our crew and in compliance with applicable law, the following items are strictly prohibited from transport by InstaGo Moving:
- Hazardous materials — including flammable liquids (gasoline, propane, lighter fluid), explosives, ammunition, chemicals, pesticides, pool chemicals, paint, and similar substances
- Perishable food and beverages — items requiring refrigeration or that may spoil during transport
- Living things — plants, animals, and other living organisms
- Illegal items — any item whose possession or transport is prohibited under federal, state, or local law
- Cash, jewelry, and irreplaceable documents — while not prohibited, we strongly recommend that the Customer personally transport high-value items such as cash, jewelry, legal documents, passports, and medications
InstaGo Moving reserves the right to refuse to transport any item it reasonably determines to be prohibited or unsafe. The Customer is solely responsible for any prohibited items included in a shipment without disclosure.
10. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions, and any disputes arising out of or related to them or the services provided by InstaGo Moving, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and the parties hereby consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary so that these Terms will otherwise remain in full force and effect and enforceable.
